Creating and dispatching Trips in Movegistics 5.0 ensures that all Work Orders for a truck and crew are grouped together in a logical, trackable route. This makes it easier to manage schedules, reduce drive time, and give your crew clear instructions. When Trips are dispatched correctly, you avoid missed assignments, late check-ins, and inefficient routing.

βοΈ Step-by-Step: How to Create a Trip
1. Go to the Trips Module
Navigate to the Operations > Trips tab from the left-hand menu.
2. Click 'Create Trip'
This opens a new Trip creation window.
3. Enter Basic Details
Trip Name (optional)
Trip Date (should match the WO dates)
Select Truck (required)
Assign Primary Driver (required)
You may optionally assign a Helper
π¨ Make sure the truck and crew are available on the selected date. Conflicts with other Trips will be flagged.
4. Add Work Orders to the Trip
Click Add Work Orders, then:
Use the filter panel to search WR/WOs by date, job type, or assigned truck
Select one or more Work Orders that:
Are scheduled for the same date
Belong on the same route
Click Add to Trip
5. Reorder Stops (Optional)
Drag and drop WOs to adjust the order of stops within the Trip.

6. Review All Trip Info
Before dispatching, confirm:
Assigned Truck & Driver are correct
All intended WOs are present
Timeline/order of stops is logical
7. Change Status to 'Dispatched'
Use the Status dropdown in the Trip Header
Select Booked
β Booking makes the Trip live in the Crew App. WOs alone are not visible without the Trip being dispatched.

A push notification is sent to the assigned driver
The full Trip appears in the Crew App under βTodayβ
Workers can check in and check out of each Work Order
Timeline tracking, notes, and signature capture are activated
π If a Trip is left in Draft, the WOs will not be visible to the crew on move day.

π Editing After Dispatch
You can edit Trips even after dispatching:
Add or remove WOs
Change stop order
Swap truck or crew
Cancel the Trip if needed
Any changes made will be reflected in the Crew App in real time.

π§ Tips for Successful Trip Creation
Always dispatch your Trip the day before or morning of the route
Use color tags on WOs to mark VIP clients or heavy jobs
If one job has special instructions, mark it in the Trip Notes
Ensure the WO date matches the Trip date β otherwise, it won't be selectable
