Trip plans change all the time—crews get reassigned, jobs get canceled, or new stops pop up mid-route. The Trips Module in Movegistics 5.0 allows you to adjust on the fly without losing visibility or creating confusion.
When you edit or cancel a Trip, the updates instantly reflect in the Crew App, so everyone stays on the same page. This helps eliminate miscommunication, double-booking, or missed jobs. 📲

✏️ How to Edit an Existing Trip
1. Access the Trip
Go to Dispatch > Trips, then filter by date or search by truck or driver name to find the Trip.
2. Open Trip Details
Click on the Trip to view assigned truck, crew, date, and Work Orders.
3. Edit the Details
You can make changes to the following fields:
- 🚚 Truck
- 👷 Primary Driver / Helpers
- 🗓 Trip Date
- 📝 Trip Name and Internal Notes
After making updates, click Save Trip.
🟡 If the Trip is already dispatched, all changes update in real time for the crew.

🔄 Updating Work Orders in a Trip
➕ Adding a Work Order:
- Click Add Work Orders
- Filter by date, customer, or unassigned WRs
- Select and click Add to Trip
➖ Removing a Work Order:
- Click the 🖑 icon beside a Work Order to remove it from the Trip
- The WR will be unassigned but not deleted
🔃 Reordering Stops:
- Drag and drop WRs to change their sequence
- The order shown here matches the order seen in the Crew App
✅ Dispatched Trips can still be modified. The updates will be pushed to the driver’s app instantly.

🚚 Reassigning Truck or Driver
- Click into the Trip
- Use the dropdown to select a different truck or new driver
- Save the Trip to apply the reassignment
🔔 The newly assigned driver will receive an automatic push notification
⚠️ Avoid mid-job driver swaps unless necessary—it can interfere with check-in/out logs

❌ Canceling a Trip
How to Cancel:
- Open the Trip
- Change the Trip Status to Canceled
- Click Save Trip
What Happens:
- WRs are detached from the Trip (but remain scheduled)
- The Trip disappears from the Crew App
- You can now reassign those WRs to another Trip or crew
🔕 Canceled Trips do not delete the Work Orders—only their grouping is removed

✅ Best Practices When Updating Trips
- 🔍 Always match Trip Date with WR Dates
- 📣 Use Trip Notes for internal instructions like “Lunch Break After Stop #2”
- 🔄 If you revert to Draft by mistake, remember to re-dispatch
- 📱 Always follow up verbally if a mid-day change is urgent—even if push notifications go out
