Pricing Settings - Categories 🧾
.
Why This Matters to Your Business 💡
Pricing Categories in Movegistics 5.0 let you organize key cost-impacting elements that appear during estimates, like bulky items, stairs, or white glove service. These categories serve as parent folders for multipliers, allowing for clearer organization, more scalable pricing logic, and quicker estimate generation.
By using categories, your team can:
-
Keep estimate structures clean and consistent
-
Simplify pricing updates and audits
-
Reduce confusion around job-specific surcharges
.
.
How to Add a New Pricing Category ⚙️
-
Navigate to Settings > Pricing > Categories.
-
Click the blue plus (+) button to open the Add Multiplier Category panel.
-
Choose the Multiplier Type:
-
Move: Categories that apply during move operations.
-
Pack: Categories used for packing-related multipliers.
-
-
Enter the Multiplier Category Name (e.g., "STAIRS", "WHITE GLOVE", etc.).
-
Click Save to finalize the category.
.
.
What Pricing Categories Do 🧩
-
Group related multipliers under one service logic (e.g., all stair-related charges under "STAIRS").
-
Help estimators filter multipliers faster when building estimates.
-
Can be toggled active/inactive to maintain control over visibility without deleting old data.
Example Categories:
-
STAIRS
-
BULKY ITEMS
-
WHITE GLOVE
-
ACCESS
-
OTHER (use this as a catch-all for uncategorized multipliers)
.
.
Pro Tips 🧠
-
Use general naming conventions for easier filtering across job types.
-
Toggle inactive categories if they're not needed seasonally.
-
"OTHER" should be used only when a multiplier doesn’t belong anywhere else.
