Why This Matters to Your Business 💡
Rate Tables in Movegistics 5.0 serve as the engine behind your job pricing strategy. By defining rates based on crew size, job weight, job volume, number of trucks, day of the week, and service type, you ensure:
-
✔️ Accurate, scalable pricing for both small and large moves
-
✔️ Greater automation in quoting, reducing manual input
-
✔️ Reliable labor and truck allocation based on logic
Whether you're operating locally or across state lines, Rate Tables streamline costing and enhance transparency across your operations.

What Rate Tables Do 🔄
Rate Tables allow you to define hourly labor pricing based on:
-
Crew Size: How many crew members are assigned to the job
-
Volume and Weight: Establish thresholds for jobs of varying scale
-
Truck Count: Assign additional trucks as volume or weight increases
-
Service Type: Configure separate logic for Local, Commercial, or Intrastate jobs
-
Day-Based Logic: Different pricing on weekdays, weekends, or end-of-month scenarios
-
Default Estimates: Set hourly ranges and duration assumptions based on toggle rules
They are especially useful when used alongside Packing Rates and Multipliers, completing your full-service pricing system.

How to Test a Rate Table ✅
To ensure your rate table works as expected:
-
Create a Work Request.
-
Set a job weight (e.g., 11,000 lbs).
-
Select a matching Service Type (e.g., Local).
-
Load pricing on the estimate screen.
The system should:
-
Recommend crew size and trucks based on thresholds
-
Apply correct hourly rate (e.g., $357 for 4 men / 2 trucks)
-
Display matching duration, load/unload time, and rate total
You can override these values manually, but the logic provides a strong default estimate.
