In Movegistics 5.0, the Vehicle Settings section under Resources lets you track all key vehicle details such as license, insurance, VIN, and service dates. Keeping this information up to date not only aids in dispatching but also supports DOT compliance, equipment forecasting, and preventative maintenance planning.

🔍 How to Access Vehicle Settings

Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of Movegistics.

From the left-hand Settings menu, go to Resources > Vehicles.
Here, you’ll see a table of all vehicles, displaying:

Vehicle Number
-
Vehicle Title & Type
-
License Plate
-
VIN Number
-
Registration & Insurance Dates
-
GVWR and Service Date fields
Use Create a View or Apply Filters to narrow down vehicle records by type, company usage, or document dates.

➕ Adding a New Vehicle
To add a vehicle:

Click the blue plus (+) icon in the top-left.

Fill in the following fields:

Vehicle Number (e.g., VH-101)
-
Vehicle Title (e.g., Cargo Van)
-
Vehicle Type (Straight Truck, Tractor, Trailer, etc.)
-
License Plate & VIN
-
Registration Date & Renewal Date
-
Insurance Date & Renewal Date
-
GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating)

Last Service Date
-

Click Save or Save & Add Another to continue adding more.

📆 Resource & Recurring Availability
Just like workers and contractors, vehicle availability can be managed daily or by setting recurring weekly schedules.
Resource Availability for Vehicles

Navigate to Resources > Vehicles.

Click Resource Availability in the top right.

View a calendar grid with daily vehicle stats:

🚚 Number of available trucks or trailers
-
Toggle visibility of each vehicle on the right

Click any specific day to inspect which vehicles are assigned or available.
Recurring Availability for Vehicles

From the Vehicles tab, click Recurring Availability.

Use the day-of-week grid to assign recurring availability:
- Confirm vehicles are selected from the drop down (Workers is selected by default)

Checkboxes for each day

Vehicles marked here will be considered "available" by default
✅ Changes sync with dispatch and scheduling to avoid booking unavailable vehicles.

🔍 Create a Custom Vehicle View
If you manage multiple depots, types of vehicles, or fleets by partner company, using views can save hours of manual filtering.
To Create a View:

Click Create a View from the top menu in the Vehicles section.

Use the left-hand panel to choose the columns you want shown:

Vehicle Number, Title, Type

VIN, License Plate, Company Tags, Last Service Date

Rearrange the Column Order by dragging fields into your preferred layout.
- Click Next

Use the Apply Filters tool if you want to narrow your view (e.g., show only Active workers or only those in a specific department)

Name your view (e.g., "Active Drivers – East Team")

Choose whether to make it private or share it with your team

Click Save
🌐 You can now switch between saved views from the top navigation bar under the Saved Views tab.
