With Movegistics 5.0, the Tools Settings under the Resources module give you the ability to document, categorize, and organize all moving equipment—from dollies to ramps and liftgates—ensuring your field teams are always equipped and your asset records are always up to date.

🔍 Accessing Tool Settings

Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of Movegistics.

From the left-hand Settings menu, navigate to Resources > Tools.
You’ll be brought to the main Tools grid where you can:

View a list of all registered tools

Filter by tool type or tags

Add new tool records
-
Create custom views to track tool categories

âž• Adding a New Tool
To add a new tool to your resources:

Click the blue plus (+) icon at the top-left of the Tools grid.

Fill in the following fields:
-
Tool Number: Unique identifier for internal tracking

Tool Title: The name or label of the tool

Tool Type: Select from predefined categories like Transportation Tools, Dollies, etc.

Tags: Add searchable tags for easy grouping (e.g., "heavy duty", "crew essential")

Internal Note: Add any notes specific to tool use or condition

Assign the Owner (admin responsible for this record)

Click Save or Save & Add Another to continue adding more

đź“… Creating Custom Views for Tools
Custom views allow you to easily organize and filter your tools by type, tags, or ownership.
To Create a View:

From the Tools tab, click Create a View.

Use the column selector to display:

Tool Number
-
Tool Title
-
Tool Type
-
Tags
-
Internal Note
-
Owner
-

Rearrange columns using the Column Order section to fit your workflow.

Click Next
-
Use the Apply Filters tool if you want to narrow your view (e.g., show only Active workers or only those in a specific department)

Name your view (e.g., "Active Drivers – East Team")

Choose whether to make it private or share it with your team

Click Save
Now your view will appear as a tab at the top of the Tools page for quick access.
